Official fuel prices in North Macedonia: petrol 8 cents cheaper

The Energy Regulatory Commission (RKE) has issued a decision on the official new fuel prices in North Macedonia. The new maximum prices apply from 00:01 on Tuesday, 27 October 2026. The average retail fuel price is 1.89% lower than under the decision of 19 October 2026.

New maximum prices

  • Eurosuper 95: 96.0 → 91.0 MKD per litre (≈ 1.56 € → ≈ 1.48 €), a change of −5.0 MKD
  • Eurosuper 98: 98.0 → 93.0 MKD per litre (≈ 1.59 € → ≈ 1.51 €), a change of −5.0 MKD
  • Eurodiesel BS: 99.0 → 99.0 MKD per litre (≈ 1.61 €), unchanged

Both grades of petrol are therefore cheaper by 5 denars per litre, or about 8 cents. The price of diesel stays at its previous level.

What is behind the decision

According to the explanation, reference petrol prices on the world market fell by 8.120% on average, while diesel rose by 0.404%. Over the same period, the denar weakened against the dollar by 0.3292%.

The calculation applied the reduced excise duty of 4.00 MKD per litre for Eurosuper 95, Eurosuper 98 and diesel. The reduced VAT rate of 10% was also applied to diesel.

RKE sets only the maximum permitted retail prices, so retailers may charge lower prices than those prescribed at their petrol stations.

North Macedonia has no fixed weekly schedule for price changes. Prices change several times a month, and when market movements are strong, as often as four to five times, depending on world oil prices and the dollar exchange rate. New prices usually apply from midnight after the decision is made. An overview of prices is available on the page fuel prices in North Macedonia.
